Introducing

Sheh Vahid, DMD, MS

Dr. Sheh started our East Cobb pediatric dental practice because she wanted to implement her vision for how a children's dental office should be run, both from a practical and philosophical perspective. Being a solo practitioner and private owner allows her to better get to know her young patients and their families, enabling her to spend more one-on-one time answering questions and ensuring everyone feels at home and looked after. She’s eager to welcome you and your favorite smile through our doors, and you can learn a little more about her below.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Pediatric Dentist?

Coming from a family of dentists (including a pediatric dentist father, orthodontist mother, and general dentist brother), Dr. Sheh knew from childhood where her career was heading. During her high school years, she shadowed at her parents' private practice and helped with assisting, sterilizing, and taking radiographs. As the patients of her father’s pediatric specialty were all children, Dr. Sheh saw up close the importance of treating kids and how rewarding it could be. That’s when she knew that pediatric dentistry was for her.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

On her way to becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Sheh studied at Michigan State University (earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Physiology), the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Doctoral Degree) and the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center (General Dentistry Residency with a focus in pediatric dentistry). She completed her specialty training at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) to become a board-certified pediatric dentist.

Her time at the University of Michigan included training to treat children of all ages from infancy through adolescence, including those with special needs and complex medical histories. During this period, she developed a keen interest in infant oral health, specifically comparing the outcome of early versus late first dental visits in preschool children of Flint, Michigan. Her research in this field earned her a Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry, and she has presented it at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Sheh is a member of the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Georgia Dental Association
  • American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
  • Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry
  • American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Sheh currently lives in Sandy Springs and enjoys spending time outdoors, playing tennis, snow skiing, dining out (her favorite meal is sushi with spicy mayo), and traveling. She is a huge Michigan football fan! You can always catch her glued to the TV whenever the Wolverines are taking on the Spartans.
