Introducing Sheh Vahid, DMD, MS

Sheh Vahid, DMD, MS

Coming from a family of dentists (father, pediatric dentist; mother, orthodontist; brother, general dentist), Dr. Sheh knew from childhood where her career was heading. During her high school years, she shadowed at her parents' private practice and helped with assisting, sterilizing, and taking radiographs. As the patients of her father’s pediatric specialty were all children, Dr. Sheh saw up close the importance of treating children and how rewarding it could be. That’s when she knew that pediatric dentistry was for her.

On her way to becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Sheh studied at Michigan State University (Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Physiology), the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Doctoral Degree) and the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center (General Dentistry Residency [AEGD] with a focus in Pediatric Dentistry). She completed her Specialty program at the University of Michigan to become a board-certified pediatric dentist.

Dr. Sheh returned home to Ann Arbor, MI for residency, which included training for treating children of all ages from infancy through adolescence, including those with special needs and complex medical history.  During this period, Dr. Sheh developed a keen interest in infant oral health, specifically comparing the outcome of early versus late first dental visits in preschool children of Flint Michigan. Her research in this field earned her a Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry, and she was presented at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Following her residency, Dr. Sheh moved to Atlanta to begin her practice. After working with others for several years, she decided to open a private practice so she could create her own vision.

Dr. Sheh is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), the Georgia Dental Association (GDA), and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry (SSPD).

She currently lives in Sandy Springs and enjoys spending time outdoors, playing tennis, snow skiing, dining out (her favorite being sushi with spicy mayo), and traveling.  Dr. Sheh is a huge Michigan Football fan!  You can always catch her glued to the TV whenever the Wolverines are taking on the Spartans.
